PhD student in History and the programme participant Ana Lolua attended a Winter school on Ukraine held in Munich from 9th of March to 13th of March, 2020. A week long intensive training on the modern history and current politics, economy and the society of Ukraine was organized by the Ukrainian Free University of Munich, a research hub in Germany and specifically in Bavaria for scholars focusing their research on Ukraine. Interdisciplinary in its scope the seminars allowed the participants to reflect on the ongoing processes in Ukraine and hark back to its past
to seek for possible explanations; to trace continuities and discontinuities. Winter school offers the possibility to obtain credit points for those participants who submit an essay on any of the topics discussed during the lectures. This involves
regular contacts with the lecturers. Ukrainian Free University is also a home to library and archive hosting primary and secondary sources on Ukrainian national movements, Ukrainians in Germany and some other important actors and events in modern Ukrainian history. https://www.ufu-muenchen.de/de
