Svetlana Berikashvili, a doctoral student in the joint transdisciplinary Carl Friedrich Lehmann-Haupt international doctoral program of Ilia State University (ISU) and the Georg-August University of Göttingen (Germany), defended her dissertation Differential Subject Marking in Georgian on February 7, 2023.
The program allows doctoral candidates to defend their dissertations using the Cotutelle model and to receive a double doctoral degree and a diploma from both universities.
The scientific supervisors from the Georg-August University of Göttingen are Prof. Dr. Hedde Zeijlstra and Prof. Dr. Anke Holler.
The scientific supervisors from Ilia State University are Prof. Dr. Nino Doborjginidze and Prof. Dr. Irina Lobzhanidze.
The dissertation defense was held in English in a hybrid format, with the ISU dissertation board physically present and their German counterparts participating virtually.
After defending her dissertation successfully, Svetlana Berikashvili’s work was awarded Magna Cum Laude from both universities.
