Workshop on Stress Management

On October 27-28, a 2-day workshop on Stress Management was organized by IDS of Ilia State University and conducted by Associate prof. Nino Makhashvili. The objectives of the workshop was to increase knowledge of PhD students on stress, its evolutionary benefits, raise awareness on harmful consequences of stress, practice and acquire skills of dealing with stressful reactions that could be applied to everyday routine.
The following topics were covered during the workshop:

  • What is stress?
  • Common Reactions to Stress: Flight-Fight-freeze reactions
  • Acute and chronic stress and when it becomes harmful
  • Causes of stress
  • Consequences and manifestations

About the trainer:
As an Associate Professor and a head of Mental Health Resource Center at Ilia State University Nino Makhashvili is involved in academic teaching and research activities. She is one of founders and a lecturer at Master’s Program on Mental Health since 2012.
