During the discussion, Tamar summarised the research directions that she will undertake during her work – the micro-history of ferroalloy plant in Zestafoni, the politics of labour in the biggest industrial factory of late Soviet Georgia, and the bottom-up social history of ordinary people under the Soviet rule. During her presentation, she also discussed the particular methodological approaches – archival work, oral history and biographical study methods. The presentation was followed by very hot debates and discussions about the Soviet history of
modern Georgia.
