On 19th June 2020 Svetlana Berikashvili presented a talk “Checking Case assigning dependency on transitivity condition” at Doctoral Colloquium, Linguistics section. The talk was focused on the results of fieldwork, namely the presentation of the sustainable data collection created as an additional corpus to analyse DSM properties in Georgian. The corpus includes collection of spontaneous and semi-spontaneous speech of 21 native-speaking informants. It also comprises the additional tasks, diagnostic tests and manipulation of sentences which were designed to reveal the several properties of DSM in Georgian. The average word count per speaker is approximately 3000 words. Based on the results obtained from the corpus, the question addressed in the presentation was whether Case assignment depends on transitivity condition in Georgian. The presentation was followed by hot debates and discussions on the issue.
