DHR Admission Criteria and Procedure

Admission Criteria:

  • Master’s Degree (preferably in Philosophy or in a discipline related to the research topics of the program)
  • Language Requirements:
    • English language proficiency of at least B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). or alternatively
    • German language proficiency of at least B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
    • Only for applicants who are no native speakers of Georgian: Proficiency of Georgian of at least B2 (CEFR)
  • Full-Time Commitment: Only candidates who will devote their full time to their Ph.D. project can be accepted. In return for the full scholarship the participants are expected not to seek additional non-academic employment alongside their Ph.D. project.

 

Selection and Admission Procedure:

  1. Review of the applications by both universities
  2. Shortlisting of candidates for personal interviews
  3. Personal interview with the selection committee from ISU
  4. Preliminary selection of the participants
  5. Audit of the preliminary selection by WWU and approval or additional interview(s)
  6. Admission to doctoral studies at ISU and WWU
