DHR Admission Criteria and Procedure
Admission Criteria:
- Master’s Degree (preferably in Philosophy or in a discipline related to the research topics of the program)
- Language Requirements:
- English language proficiency of at least B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). or alternatively

- German language proficiency of at least B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
- Only for applicants who are no native speakers of Georgian: Proficiency of Georgian of at least B2 (CEFR)
- Full-Time Commitment: Only candidates who will devote their full time to their Ph.D. project can be accepted. In return for the full scholarship the participants are expected not to seek additional non-academic employment alongside their Ph.D. project.
Selection and Admission Procedure:
- Review of the applications by both universities
- Shortlisting of candidates for personal interviews
- Personal interview with the selection committee from ISU
- Preliminary selection of the participants
- Audit of the preliminary selection by WWU and approval or additional interview(s)
- Admission to doctoral studies at ISU and WWU
